Basic System Capabilities

The purpose of the Succession Conference Reporting System is the preparation of Conference Snapshots and Succession Planning Conference Workbooks.

The System can provide the output for Organizational conferences and a book of Employee Profiles, where there is no Succession Conference.

The Conference Snapshot

  • A Conference Snapshot is usually run multiple times before a Conference book is produced. It is identified by the Sponsor and the Sponsor's position.
  • An Organizational Conference Snapshot begins with Level 1 positions (positions which report directly to the Sponsor's position).
  • This is followed by Level 2 positions (if that Level is selected) grouped by the Level 1 position to which it reports.
  • Though rarely used, Level 3 positions can also be included. They are grouped by the Level 2 and Level 1 positions to which they report.
  • Each position is identified by its incumbent since like positions might have the same name.

The Organizational Conference Book

An Organizational Conference book generally consists of:

  • Level 1 Succession Summary and Index
  • Level 2 Succession Summary and Index (if applicable)
  • Level 3 Succession Summary and Index (if applicable)
  • Employee Profiles and Index of all Candidates, Level 2/3 Incumbents and selected High Potentials
